Monitoring waste heat with regard to the Energy Efficiency Act
With the “Energy Efficiency Act” (EnEfG), which came into force on 18.11.2023, among other things
all companies in Germany - under certain conditions - are legally
to submit energy data to the “Federal Agency for Energy Efficiency” (BfEE) from 01.01.2025.
Energy Efficiency Agency” (BfEE).
The aim of the EnEfG is to increase energy efficiency in Germany and to permanently reduce primary and
and final energy consumption in the long term. It therefore obliges certain
companies to introduce energy management and environmental management systems
and to transmit their own unused waste heat data to the BfEE. ONI Wärmetrafo GmbH offers a comprehensive service package to support companies in complying with the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG):
The obligations under the EnEfG depend on the company's total final energy consumption. As a first step, a quantitative assessment of this consumption is required. Detailed information on this can be found in the “BAFA information sheet on determining total final energy consumption”.
If the calculation results in a value of more than 2.77 GWh/year, the company is subject to the waste heat reporting obligation. If consumption exceeds 7.5 GWh/year, there is an additional obligation to introduce an energy or environmental management system. ONI Wärmetrafo GmbH therefore offers a comprehensive service package which, in addition to the further evaluation of your data (e.g. possible obligation to report individual plants/locations), also includes supporting measures to enable you to comply with your waste heat reporting obligation. This includes, among other things, a specific offer for the necessary measurement technology (energy meters, heat meters, etc.) to quantitatively record the waste heat quantities generated. These services are particularly advantageous for customers who already use ONI Wärmetrafo GmbH systems, as they enable seamless integration and optimization of existing systems.
