ETCHINGENGRAVING
A CLASSIC TRADE BROUGHT TO PERFECTION. Depending on the technical requirements and the details of the design, a variety of transfer media and acids may be used in EtchingEngraving. The design is transferred by rubbing the classic wax print films or modern multilayer films. The latter are transparent and can readily be stretched. They let the skilled engraver make the best possible match to the shape of the mold. The desired engraving is then etched away in an acid bath. The surface of the material is ablated at the unprotected areas and the final engraved image is created. Rinsing the surface and adjusting the degree of gloss completes the process.

EVO 0750 AQW
Laser module for the patented Advanced Quasi-Simultaneous Welding (AQW process)
EvoWeld - Stand alone
The EvoWeld is a universal machine for plastic welding with laser, especially for processing small and medium series. Depending on the application, the system can be equipped with different laser sources and optics modules, thus offering a wide range of applications. With a footprint of approx. 1 m², the system fits into any application environment. Virtually maintenance-free and easy to service, the EvoWeld is predestined for use in 24/7 production. For convenient operation, the system is equipped as standard with the intuitive EvoLaP process software and can thus also implement a wide range of different processing tasks in the field of laser welding of plastics. The EvoWeld goes through the unique CQC calibration concept of Evosys Laser GmbH, which ensures comparability of systems. To guarantee quality even during production at the customer’s site, the system is available with various modules for online process monitoring.

EvoWeld Mini - table-top system
EvoWeld Mini is a complete system in the EvoWeld series. The extremely compact tabletop unit shines with a coherent, ergonomic and economical overall concept. Laser welding of plastics is known for its advantages typical of the process. It impresses with particle-free, gentle and high-quality processing. In combination with its proven cost-effectiveness and reliability, it is now the method of choice worldwide when it comes to joining plastic parts in 24/7 series production. The EvoWeld Mini was developed to make the use of this technology feasible for smaller quantities or for laboratory use. It offers the system technology that is precisely tailored to the processing of small batches such as prototypes or assemblies with limited volumes. EvoWeld Mini means place, connect, weld! With a compact footprint of just 320 x 663 mm² and a height of 533 mm, the tabletop system has everything needed for laser welding. It is of course also compliant with laser class 1, which means that no further protective equipment is required during operation. All essential components are already included in the basic version. Integrated in the housing are the laser including cooling, beam shaping and guiding, and the necessary control components. To increase flexibility and ease of operation, the EvoWeld Mini is equipped with a galvanometer scanner. This enables the industrially common process variants contour and quasi-simultaneous welding. Weld contours are programmed and adapted using the intuitive EvoLaP process software. This makes it very easy to transfer welding processes developed on the EvoWeld Mini to the more highly automated products from the Evosys portfolio. Various extensions for process and quality monitoring are optionally available.

Grain patterns borrowed from nature or graphically abstracted Plastic surfaces that perfectly imitate natural materials can be created by adding color and particles in combination with structures. The surface grains appear deceptively real, but have cost advantages over their natural and therefore expensive twins. “In addition, the flexibility of plastics offers extended possibilities for shaping the products,” says Tonnecker. He mentions wood, stone and woven fiber structures, matt and contrasting, glossy or transparent for corresponding substitutions, which can also be used to expand the areas of application. Another focus of current design trends is graphic surfaces or graining, which are created using geometric and sometimes microscopically small patterns strung together. “They appear handcrafted and at the same time convey technical precision,” says Tonnecker, describing their special appeal. “Dark color nuances and tones that convey the absence of light and thus heaviness often contrast with light and iridescent colors,” he describes, citing as examples foils that have an effect on the surface, for example on furniture or technical housings.
