SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB showcases its technological and systems expertise in automated production cells

Kuteno premiere: For the first time, SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB, the German subsidiary of the Japanese manufacturer SHIBAURA MACHINE, presents its extensive portfolio to plastics processors and injection molders at a German trade fair.

At Kuteno, SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB showcases its extensive injection molding portfolio, highlighting its expertise in technology and system solutions for automated production cells. "The core of our horizontal machines lies in the fully electric EC-SXIII models, offering up to 3,000 tons of clamping force with precision and energy efficiency. Our hydraulic S-GenXt machines stand out for their durability and cost-effectiveness," explains Dr. Martin Kovacik, Executive Vice President for Thermoplastics, Sales, and Service EMEA. The portfolio also includes automation solutions such as SCARA and 6-axis robots, as well as drying and cooling systems.

The company presents its proprietary V70 control system with a touch panel, which simplifies tool setup, analyzes part defects, optimizes cycle times, and integrates auxiliary devices via OPC-UA. "With our IIoT solution machiNetCloud and the AI-powered Virtual Machine Expert, we ensure stable, efficient production processes and promote connected operations," adds Kovacik.

SHIBAURA MACHINE LWB also provides information on vertical rubber and plastic machines ranging from 10 to 1,800 tons, including C-frame, 4-column, and platen-frame models. "Our modular architecture offers horizontal column and C-frame options for thermoplastics and elastomers. We design efficient manufacturing solutions for 2K, thermoplastic, rubber, or metal applications, focusing on high automation, material efficiency, and energy savings," explains Daniel Wiedemann, Head of Sales Europe for Elastomers.

Examples include the LWB VALUE MultiStation and PowerStation, which automate decoupled and parallelized processes, shorten cycle times, reduce waste, and save energy. "The PowerStation achieves the shortest cycle times, highest part quality, and maximum flexibility in elastomer processing through synchronized operations," Wiedemann concludes.
