Meerwert - Compound based on bioplastic and red algae
Biodegradable, compostable and suitable for food contact
GreenFoilNature GmbH harnesses the green power of algae to create a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics. They have developed innovative compounds based on natural algae by incorporating macroalgae as a natural filler into our compounds. These algae grow in saline or treated wastewater, for example, requiring minimal resources and producing large amounts of biomass. In doing so, they bind CO₂ and release oxygen.
The developed GFN compounds not only reduce CO₂ emissions but are also biodegradable and recyclable. They are also suitable for extrusion and injection molding and have every chance of meeting all relevant EU regulations, including those for direct food contact and the SUPD.
This creates materials that combine ecological responsibility with industrial applicability – a real step towards a more sustainable future!
