New PFAS-free process additives

PFAS – polyfluorinated alkyl compounds – are being discussed because this group of substances is almost impossible to degrade.

They are therefore also referred to as ‘forever chemicals’. These PFAS accumulate and can accumulate in the environment, in humans and in animals.

The aim and purpose of PFAS processing aids in thermoplastic applications are, for example:

Prevention of nozzle bearding
Reduction of shark skin (melt fracture)
Temperature resistance in processes up to 290 °C
Good printability or coating
