Implementing the Future
Many well-known and market-leading industrial and technology companies are already working intensively on the holistic solutions approach of an end-to-end digitally networked supply and value chain across multiple tier levels in order to get a better handle on the constantly growing challenges facing automotive OEMs. Such a solution scenario with a focus on the automotive industry was implemented as a protoype at the beginning of 2022 by the German-Austrian company cooperation Digital Moulds, 4zero (100 % subsidiary of the P3 Group) and Tributech. The basic aim of this solution is to create greater transparency in the flow of information, data exchange and dependencies along the supply chain of an automotive OEM. The automotive industry has been undergoing massive upheaval for several years now. The increasing individualization of vehicles and the simultaneous decentralization and outsourcing of specialist areas are incerasing the importance of a seamless and well-functioning supply chain. Complex organizational structures, historically evolved heterogeneous system architectures and numerous isolated solutions make it difficult for OEMs and their suppliers to exchange information and ensure traceability along the entire value chain. Continuous, up-to-date asset condition monitoring across the OEM's entire supply chain should make it possible to identify and proactively avoid bottlenecks, downtimes, production losses and production errors. This reduces scrap rates, capacity utilization problems, faulty and quality costs and maximizes component quality. Greater transparency in the value chain leads to greater planning accuracy, targeted demand and inventory planning in the OEM's overall production environment and improves adherence to delivery times along the entire supply chain.
