Digital Moulds, the young start-up from Upper Austria, has been working with the BMW Group since 2019. In the supplier relationship, the digitalization of tools is being driven forward in order to make tool performance measureable. The collaboration has provided significant impetus to increase efficiency and transparency in the supply chain through smart manufacturing - clear evidence of the supplier's sustainable value contribution.

This digital transformation was made possible by an interface that is not only powerful and easy to implement, but also knows no system boundaries.

The data is seamlessly transferred to the exisiting BMW Group IT infrastructure. Data exchange is standardized and efficient, which is particularly essential in a complex production environment. The interface is used by other internationally operating groups. It is high-performance, easy to understand and very well documented.

Mould Monitoring is a central component of the system. Among other things, the system includes global condition monitoring, which includes locating the moulds. The system makes it possible to keep an eye on mould performance at all times (independent of location and time). In addtion, Mould Monitoring generates transparency about the mould condition data and ensures proactive resource management within QMT and mould qualification.

This information is prepared and visualized in the form of dashboards. That results in increased transparency for further optimization of the supply chain.

Digital Moulds impresses with its high levels of technical expertise, flexibility and ability to respond quickly to customer requirements. The company from Sierning in Upper Austria benefits from its "small" size, which enables short decision-making paths.
