Molding Tools
Hotmelt molding tools from Schäfer serve to overmold, shape and seal electric components to encapsulate and protect them from adverse environmental effects, such as moisture and dirt. Schäfer constructs and fabricates low-pressure hotmelt molding tools that are specifically adapted to the processing system used. The tools are particularly suited for use with the hotmelt machines in the low-pressure process.

Molding Device MoldLine 205 BASIC
The device from Schäfer is suitable for the molding of hotmelt polyamides on technical components. This provides insulation and mechanical protection for specific assemblies, allowing them to withstand extreme conditions such as heat, dust, or moisture. The MoldLine 205 BASIC consists of a control unit with a melting tank and a molding dispenser for the quick provision of molten hotmelt material. The molding device enables a wide range of applications — from free molding, known as “potting,” in housings to the precise filling of small tool molds. Our high-quality hotmelt adhesives are ideal for technological applications and offer a variety of advantages. They provide rapid curing, enabling efficient production. Additionally, they are versatile and can be applied to various surfaces. Their strong adhesion ensures high durability, while their high temperature resistance guarantees reliable connections in demanding conditions. The MoldLine 205 BASIC offers: - Stepless temperature adjustment for flexible adaptation - High-performance components for short heating times - Temperature setting via LED display - Molding pressure adjustment via manometer - Compact design for easy handling With the hotmelt molding device, Schäfer provides a cost-effective solution suitable for the production of prototypes as well as small batch sizes.

Molding Machine MoldLine 850 BASIC
The molding machine from Schäfer is designed for molding hotmelt polyamides on technical components. This provides insulation and mechanical protection for specific assemblies, allowing them to withstand extreme conditions such as heat, dust, or moisture. The powerful machine is designed for high productivity in medium-sized batch sizes, making it ideal for various applications in the automotive, electronics, and sensor industries. The components are precisely positioned and fixed in the tool before the machine takes over the process completely: it automatically closes the tool, accurately positions the nozzle at the molding channel, and controls the material dosage into the mold area. Modern sensors continuously monitor the temperature, ensuring consistently high quality and perfect molding results. The machine consists of a melting device and the molding unit. One tool upper part is fixed, while two lower parts are located on the integrated change table. This movable table allows parts to be removed and reloaded during the machine processing in the other tool. The seamless changeover results in impressive cycle times, making it ideal for series production in the industry. The low-pressure molding machine enables: - Automatic closing of the molding tool - Automatic movement of the injection head - Lateral movement of the lower part of the injection tool to the process position - Electronic control of injection, holding, and cooling time Advantages of the Machine - Flexibility through processing of numerous materials - No downtime and short cycle times - Reproducible results and high quality - Automatic processes for high process reliability - Maximum productivity in changeover operation - Ergonomic loading with sliding table

Crimping Machine ProLine 240 EXTENDED
The machine has been designed for stripping and crimping multi-core wires, with advanced quality assurance functions. This was based on a wide variety of products for cable assembly, optimization of retooling work and compliance with high quality standards. The modular components of the innovative machine concept reduce set-up times and increase flexibility for processing a wide range of products. The framework and functional design provide the prerequisite for immediate conversions and extensions. The newly developed machine housing provides installation space for additional control technology and other automation components, for example for automatic feeding and positioning of seals or ferrite cores. The standard integrated LED lighting ensures a good view in the working area. When monitoring the cutting depth, strand contact on the stripping blade is detected as a fault during the stripping process. This function is an optional supplement to crimp force monitoring and prevents the use of damaged cables in further processing. In summary, the crimping machine with cutting and crimp force monitoring provides you with the following advantages: - Flexible workspace for versatile application - Modular design for extensions and automation - High product quality through monitoring devices - Intuitive operation with touch screen control - High degree of safety for operators

Automation System SynchroLine
The high-performance wire processing machine is used for the production of high quality cables for medicine applications. On the prepared wires, crimp connections are manufactured with high precision and special connectors are applied. Schäfer has many years of experience in the development and manufacture of tools and machines for the processing of individual wires. The basis of the fully automatic cable processing machine is a transfer system which transports the wires to the respective stations with shuttles. The two core wire is fed nearly tension-free by means of a specially developed wire unwinder. Depending on demand, the speed of the unwinding is controlled and a corresponding length of fiber is stored in a buffer. The product-dependent wire lengths are cut at the first station of the processing machine. The control system with touch screen has an intuitive user interface for easy and safe operation of the machine in different languages. The selection of different user roles and operating modes as well as machine networking functions enable flexible and modern process sequences.

Crimping Machine PlugLine 345-3 EXTENDED
The high-performance crimping machine is designed for the economical production of high quality power cables. Crimp connections are made between two- or three-core sheathed cables and power plugs. The closed insertion mask and colour detection supports the correct feeding of the cables by the machine operator. The cables are fed manually, cut to a reference length and stripped. A vacuum system removes insulation and wire residues from the process area. In the cable processing machine, the loose power plugs are positioned with a spiral conveyor. The components to be connected are automatically fed to the crimping process via a conveyor rail. The safety of the operator during processing is ensured by closed protective covers. A column guided crimping applicator connects the sheathed cables with the power plugs. The optional crimp force monitoring system with bad part cutter prevents the use of cables with incorrect crimps in the further process and provides the quality assurance. With a production rate of up to 1450 pieces per hour the crimping machine is ideal for series production. The high grade components, the robust machine design and the modular structure stand for highest product quality, short set-up times and durability.
