HB-Therm GmbH
About us
As a pioneer in the manufacture of temperature control units for the plastics industry, HB‑Therm AG has been characterised by outstanding innovation, uncompromising quality and a strong commitment to sustainability since it was founded in 1967.
With a subsidiary in Siegburg, Germany, and 65 country representatives, HB‑Therm has a global presence and serves customers in the automotive, medical technology, consumer goods, optics and industrial sectors. With 140 employees, the company produces over 11 000 units annually and generates annual sales of around CHF 60 million, underlining its strong position as the largest manufacturer of temperature control units on the global market.
The secret of HB‑Therm's success lies in its corporate culture, which is practised on a daily basis and is based on deeply rooted values. As a Swiss family-owned company, HB‑Therm recognises the importance of long-term relationships, both with employees and with customers worldwide. Another key aspect is the commitment to sustainability, which is reflected in the continuous optimization of the carbon footprint. The high degree of in-house production and engineering under one roof at the St. Gallen site in Switzerland are key to HB‑Therm's pioneering role in developing the most energy‑efficient temperature control unit.
HB‑Therm has a clear mission to increase the efficiency of its customers. The latest generation of units, the Series 6, sets standards in terms of energy efficiency and guarantees optimum performance. Quality and durability are a matter of course for HB‑Therm, underpinned by the unique selling point of the lifetime guarantee on the core components of the heater and flow meter.

Temperature Control Units Thermo-6
The technology of the Thermo-6 temperature control units follows on from the extremely successful Thermo-5 series. With over 100,000 appliances in use, HB-Therm has become the global market leader. The appliance technology has always been focussed on quality and durability. HB-Therm proves this with a lifetime guarantee on the core heating components and now also on the flow meters. ‘Just better’ stands for the consistent further development of our technology. The basic equipment not only meets the highest and most modern requirements, but also makes a significant contribution to increasing efficiency and productivity. This is ensured by frequency-controlled pumps as standard, software assistants for operating point optimisation, device technologies for precise and low-wear operation and help systems with context-related information. The Thermo-6 temperature control units are equipped with an Ethernet interface as standard and communicate with the injection moulding machine or other downstream systems via OPC UA. In combination with a Gate-6 interface server, access to the digital world of HB Therm opens up completely new possibilities for the user. The ‘e-cockpit’ app accesses a device locally and enables digital features such as remote access for more control and flexibility, while the fully automatic data export at the touch of a button offers quick help and support if required.

Thermo-6: Size 62 with new performance features
The new size impresses with higher heating, cooling and pump capacities and now covers a temperature range from 100 °C to 140 °C and 160 °C up to 180 °C. The pump capacity is up to 140 L/min, the heating capacity is 16 kW as standard and the cooling capacity is up to 120 kW @ 60 K. As with size 61, the new size 62 also utilises the familiar 4T can and synchronous pumps with their very high efficiency in the 100 °C units and the 4S pump from 140 °C upwards. The same applies to the new, more powerful 6P and 6R pumps with a flow rate of up to 140 L/min, whereby the 6P ‘Direct Drive’ pump also impresses with its particularly high efficiency for temperatures up to 100 °C thanks to the avoidance of eddy current losses. All pumps are frequency-controlled as standard for maximum efficiency, precision and performance. Due to their high flow rates, units with 6P and 6R pumps also use connections with larger cross-sections. Although slightly wider in physical design, the new size 62 units are 650 millimetres less high than their Series 5 predecessors, which has a positive effect on the installation options in the area of production facilities. With their overall height, the new systems also fit very well under production systems or in the immediate production environment. The reason for the larger dimensions: The greater performance potential of size 62 in the areas of heating, cooling and pumping. Nevertheless, the full potential of this size has not yet been fully utilised.

Extended control and remote access options with Gate 6
For customers who require additional digital control and support options, the Gate 6 interface server offers a wide range of powerful functions. Gate 6 provides unlimited access to all of HB Therm's digital services, such as remote connections and analysis data transfer, which contribute to detailed monitoring and control of the units. The following functions are available to customers using Gate 6 in combination with the e cockpit app: - Remote Control - Remote Access - Remote Support - Send analysis data:
