Through the targeted combination of mechanical and chemical modifications at the nanometer scale, Gloss & Coating GmbH optimizes tool surfaces so that both demolding forces and deposit formation are significantly reduced—without compromising part appearance or dimensional accuracy. The applied nanostructuring and functional coatings—such as fluorine- or silicon-based systems—selectively alter the surface’s physical and chemical properties without affecting the part’s geometry. Unlike conventional coating processes, which often deposit layers up to 3 µm thick, Gloss & Coating operates at the nanometer scale. This enables highly precise surface modification while fully preserving the original tolerances—a key innovation advantage, especially for complex or tight-tolerance tooling components.
The developed technology reduces demolding forces by up to 70% while simultaneously minimizing buildup, resulting in significantly extended cleaning intervals. As a retrofit solution, it can be implemented without investing in new tools and is also suitable for applications in medical and food-processing technology. Its effectiveness has already been successfully demonstrated in hundreds of real production environments.
