The double-walled nozzle body does not rotate. It is fitted with a ring of blast nozzles which apply the compressed air (6 bar) to the cutting edges. Due to the lack of rotation, the Venturi effect works so that an air jacket is created on the tool cutting edges right down to the workpiece. If required, the compressed air can be mixed with aerosol-fine lubricant, which evaporates almost completely during machining. This eliminates the need for reworking and cleaning.
The use of compressed air also ensures that the machining area is 100 per cent free of chips and reduces the frictional pressure, resulting in a massive increase in tool life.
