About us

fpt robotics is a medium-sized automation company headquartered in Amtzell near Ravensburg. Our vision is to create solutions that are uniquely positioned in the market and far ahead in industrial digitization.

Since its establishment in 1982, we have been developing and producing customer-specific robot components. These are integrated into the process environments of various industries and applications.

Our core business is primarily generated through projects as a general contractor in production-related settings (for example, developing and constructing highly integrated manufacturing lines for electronic hybrid components in the automotive sector). Additionally, we assist our customers in integrating intralogistics applications and process networking (for instance, developing and integrating warehouse, picking, and conveyor technology). Products in the field of standard robotics and digital printing complement our offerings.

Fundamentally, our target audience is defined by niche markets that require specific industry expertise. Our customers mainly consist of medium-sized companies with a focus on production. Moreover, we collaborate with system partners and technology leaders to develop highly standardized overall solutions, subsequently integrating and distributing these solutions worldwide.

Digital coating

Based on an appropriately prepared digital data set, even complex surfaces can be coated directly in digital printing. Our optimal process integration enables digital printing at industry-standard speed and quality. The enormous flexibility of inkjet allows the possibilities to be limitless. E.g. decorations with logos in the interior of a car or operating panels of washing machines in different languages – both can be individualised in seconds, just by the transmission of a different data set. Not only the materials to be printed are variable, but the coating ink can also vary in a vast range. Conductive digital printing inks, for example, will fundamentally change how electronics are manufactured in the future. Functional inks for sensors, circuits, and batteries – all can be printed on suitable substrates. These inks can conduct electricity, store data, insulate, change colors and states, or emit light. Functional inks combined with digital freeform printing can open up entirely new market opportunities.

High-Speed Piece Picking

DYNAMIC ROBOTICS MEETS COMPLEX PIECE PICKING In addition to consumer desires for individuality, speed and flexibility, the wide variety of products and items plays a central role in internal process design. For order picking, this means a move away from case picking and towards piece picking. Instead of cartons with products, the products themselves are handled separately from the cartons. These products can present a wide variety of geometries in a matter of seconds: tubes, cylinders, cuboids and blisters. The combination of precise robot and gripper systems, visual object recognition and customised software means there is no need to teach in individual items. The whole system used for order picking is therefore completely and fully automated – and able to handle any product.

That’s why it plays a key role in assessing the productivity and flexibility of a factory. With our portfolio of products and solutions, we cover all the relevant areas of today’s production and logistics requirements. At the same time, we network data from products, warehouse management systems, ERP and MES systems, as well as a wide variety of production facilities in a transparent manner in your IT architecture.

End-of-line Palletization

FOR ALL KINDS OF PACKAGING TASKS Individual customer requirements meet a highly flexible modular system! Using plug-in modules, we configure an individual solution from a large portfolio of components – entirely according to your requirements and, if desired, also as a complete system. Thanks to a modular structure and intelligent interfaces, including the appropriate software architecture, the entire system can be easily expanded at any time. As an end-to-end planning and integration partner, we use driverless transport systems to network the process chain with the upstream and downstream production logistics systems.

FOR STANDARDISED HYBRID COMPONENT PRODUCTION Cost pressure, variant diversity and the associated low volumes require the corresponding adaptability and flexibility of production systems. In order to meet these requirements, consistent modularisation and standardisation is required.
